Everett Leroy Brown

Everett Leroy Brown, 86 of Rio Vista, California passed away at home on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Manhattan, Kansas to Albert and Margaret Brown. During WWII they moved 6 times in 4 years to 3 states as his Dad was a tire expert. As Everett was always “the new kid” he got bullied and his sister Margaret would walk him to school. After the war the family moved to Yakima, Washington where Everett learned to swim at the city pool and all the Life Guards taught him to dive. Then they moved to Warden WA where his Dad and Mom opened a grocery store. He went to school and graduated with 8 others and worked on the farms baling and loading hay. His family then moved to Kennewick, WA and he went to college 2 semesters and went to work for Operating Engineers where he had worked for 42 years and been retired from for 24 years. He met his former wife, Judy King, and had 3 children, [Dennis] & Diana Brown, [Klarene] & Greg Miller and [David] & Billie Jean Brown: grandchildren, [Toby] & Marisa Shane, [Angela] & Rob Weaver, [Tifani] & Cale Gjerdevig and [Tim] Brown: great-grandchildren Brody and Mya Gjerdevig. He was active in Benton-Franklin Co Sheriff Posse & rodeos & city parades.

Everett then moved with the OE to California and is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sherry Orcutt, and stepson [Randy] & Dene Orcutt, stepdaughter [Leeanna] Orcutt: grandchildren [Jacob] Orcutt, [Allen] & Erin Orcutt and [Janelle] Orcutt & Danny Garcia: great-grandchildren Savannah Orcutt, Temperance, Alexis, Jakub Orcutt, Alaric Jaxon Garcia.

On one of our many trips to Washington we drove to Warden and Everett met 2 of the men he graduated with in high school. Another time while in Mexico Everett left the tour bus quickly and when we found him, he dived off the highest ledge into a cynote, underground water cave. The area cleared! And then climbed the narrow stairs of the pyramid Chichen Itza.

Everett had CLASS, never scared, sense of humor, never made excuses, good manners. He was intensely loved and will be forever remembered by all.

Everett Leroy Brown, age 86, of Rio Vista, California passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Everett was born February 4, 1936 in Manhattan , Kansas.
