
FRANCIS R. CURTIS SR., 79 Francis R. Curtis Sr., 79, passed away Friday, June 1, in Antioch, California. He was born August 18, 1932, in Philadelphia. Francis lived most of his life in the Spring City area. He was predeceased by his loving wife Joyce (Umstead) Curtis and his youngest son, Timothy. Francis is survived by his sons Francis Jr., husband of Michele, of Antioch, California; Russell, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; Richard, of Sedona, Arizona; and daughters Cynthia, wife of Mark Herb, Reading, Pennsylvania; and Carol, wife of Frank Mohan, of Parkerford, Pennsylvania. Francis is also survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Francis was a retiree of Diamond Glass in Royersford, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Ridge Fire Department in Spring City, and the Friendship Fire Department in Royersford, where he was active with the Fire Police. He was also a member of the King William Fire Department while living in Virginia, where he drove ambulance. He was awarded member of the year in 2002 and Honorary Captain status before moving back to Pennyslvania in 2005. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, at the United Methodist Church, 45 N. Church Street in Spring City with visitation at 11 a.m. and a service at 12 p.m.
