John lived in Brentwood for the past five and a half years, but he was originally from Salina, Kansas, and had five siblings. John joined the Air Force as a young man and served his country honorably. When he left the service and came back to Salina, he worked in the oil fields. John met Dorothy, his wife of 57 years on a blind date in Salina, Kansas. Shortly after they were married, John got a job working for an insurance company (which would become his career) and John and Dorothy left Kansas and moved to Pueblo, CO. After a year they moved again to Fresno, CA before eventually settling in San Jose, CA for 11 years. While living in San Jose they raised their two young sons, Tim and John. They then moved to Cameron Park, CA (in the Sierra Nevada foothills) where they enjoyed life together for the next 30 years. John enjoyed camping, boating, gardening, family gatherings and taking trips in his RV. John and Dorothy enjoyed a long retirement in Cameron Park before moving to Westmont of Brentwood to be closer to their sons’ families.
John was a soft spoken, but respected man, who was deeply loved by his family, and will be missed.
