Ching-I Wang, 83 (Traditional Chinese Age), of Taipei Taiwan, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2023, at his home in Nashville, TN. He was born on February 9, 1941. Ching-I is survived by his wife Huang Min Wang, sons Spencer (Sarah) Wang and Terry Wang, daughter Janey Wang, and grandchildren Morgan Wang, Megan Wang, Allison Shih, Austin Shih, and Elizabeth Wang.
Ching-I received his higher education at TamKang University in Taiwan. He immigrated to the United States in 1983 and went on to establish a successful business. Wang’s Enterprises (formerly Leza International), a wholesale and retail food distribution business, was started in 1984. Ching-I worked very hard for over 30 years. He had a genuine interest in people and always had a smile on his face.
Ching-I was actively involved in various Chinese communities and ethnic associations for both adults and youths. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and had many friends. He enjoyed traveling in his free time and was known for his love of fishing with friends. He found solace and joy in casting his line and spending time in nature. He also enjoyed playing games of Chinese checker, chess, and watching historical documentaries at home with friends and family.
A ceremony to honor and remember Ching-I will be held on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023 with the viewing starting at 1PM. The funeral home assisting with the service is Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, located at 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN.
Gift of flowers can be arranged by or delivered directly to the funeral home until the day prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are gratefully accepted and will be fully donated to the Nashville Chinese School in memory of Ching-I. This organization was close to his family, and donations will help support the continuing effort for educating the future generations about the Chinese languages and cultures.
Ching-I will be dearly missed by his loved ones and all those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
