Franklin R. Howard, age 78, passed away on June 21, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lula Geneva and sister, Betty. Survived by his wife, Wen Mei Howard; sister, Micky Thompson of Sutter, CA; son, Paul (Pattie) Howard of Murfreesboro, TN; grand- daughter Amanda (Shawn) Rafferty; grand-daughter Melissa (Joshua) Richard and great grand- children Katelyn Rafferty, Conner Rafferty, Wesley Richard and Kinsley Richard of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters-in law Wensue Lee of Atlanta, GA, WenLi (Daniel) Lee of Tallassee, FL, Wen Chi Lee in Taiwan; godchild Theresa Fu of Atlanta, GA; nieces Jennifer Wu and Elaine Lee. Frank was born in Plant City, FL and moved to Sutter, CA. He attended Sutter High School. He went into the Navy and graduated from Nuclear Power School as a qualified General Instructor- Submarine Nuclear Propulsion Plan Operator. He retired in 1970 from the Navy as Chief Machinist Mate (Submarine Service) with 20 years of service. Also, he retired from Westinghouse as Nuclear Construction Manager. He worked with Nuclear Power Plants around the world (i.e. Brazil, Taiwan, Mexico, and UK) and the United States (TVA Nuclear Plan, TN; Beaver Valley, PA; and etc.). Visitation will be held from four until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 24th of June, 2013 at Brentwood Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 25th of June, 2013 in Brentwood Roesch-Patton’s Chapel with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the American Cancer Society.
