Kenneth Wayne Dedmon Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Brentwood on August 29, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Deane R. Dedmon; daughters, Katherine D. Orr, Melissa D. (Robert) Hetzer, Amanda D. (John) Smith; son, Kenneth W. (Kim) Dedmon Jr.; brother, John (Kathy) Merrill Dedmon; nine grandchildren, Matthew Hetzer, Mitchell Hetzer, Isabelle Dedmon, Tristan Dedmon, Sean-Allen Orr, Gabrielle Rota, Dominic Rota, Cason Smith and Keeley Smith, and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, W.G. Dedmon and stepmother, Louella Liner Dedmon; mother, Alma Manning Dunn; and brother, W.G. Dedmon Jr.
Kenneth spent 43 years in the Steel industry as a Purchasing Director, and received his undergraduate and masters degrees from MTSC. He was also a teacher in Nashville for 2 years. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, woodworking, fishing, golf and being with his family. He was a master of pun and loved a great joke. He was a handyman around the house, always tinkering with things to make them work better. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all he met. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 12 noon, Aspen Grove Christian Church, 274 Mallory Station Road, Franklin, TN 37067. Gathering of family and friends will be held 2 hours before the service at 10 am. Conducting the service will be Pastor Adam Kaufhold, Clinton Holloway and Bob Brown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneth's name to the Children's Department at Aspen Grove Christian Church.
