Leslie Diane Winningham

January 4, 1948 – December 30, 2025

Diane was born in Nashville, Tennessee to Charlotte Kirby on January 4th, 1948. She graduated from John Overton High School in 1966 and attended the University of Memphis, where she met her husband, David Winningham. The two were married on December 19, 1967, at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN.

Predeceasing Diane is her adoring husband, David; her mother, Charlotte Kirby Lowther; and her brother, Bobby Tucker. She is survived by her son Jason Winningham (Krista); her daughters Amy Winningham and Charlie Winningham; her eight grandchildren Eli, Jesse, Talitha, Colton, Reed, Izzy, Brooke, and Elliston; along with many nieces, nephews, and scores of devoted friends.

David and Diane lived in Memphis, TN; Houston, TX; Reston, VA; and then settled back in Nashville in late 1979 to raise their three children: Jason, Amy, Charlie, and for a few years, their niece Lisa.

In 1998, David and Diane moved to Philadelphia, PA to help fund development for Serge (formerly World Harvest Mission) and then Esperanza Health, where they worked with the poor and marginalized communities. Diane ministered to many young women and families during this time. They returned to Nashville in 2004, and Diane dedicated herself to the women’s ministry at Christ Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee where she and David attended. She taught the Sonship (Gospel Transformation) Bible Study, was a part of the Mom’s Heart program, and journeyed to Uganda, Africa on mission trips to work with children in the schools there.

In her heart of hearts, Diane’s true mission in life was the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. We are blessed to know that she is reunited with the love of her life, David, in the arms of Jesus today.

Celebration of Life Services for Diane Winningham will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Christ Community Church, 1215 Hillsboro Road, Franklin, Tennessee. There will be a visitation with family at 12:00pm and a memorial service at 1:00pm.
