Nancy lived in the “DuPont Village” and graduated from DuPont High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Harry (Herb) Marlin in October 1961. They made their home in middle Tennessee (Madison, Hendersonville, Hermitage, Mt. Juliet, Green Hills and finally Brentwood) – she worked at the old Nashville airport for Avis Rent A Car, then she and Herb began their family where she was a full-time wife, mother, entrepreneur, volunteer and raised their daughters in a kind, welcoming and loving home. Nancy had a big heart and a natural outgoing nature, she was always available for family, friends, and those in need - when someone needed a place to live (she and Herb took in several elderly family members throughout the years), they provided food, furnishings, clothing and time to many that fell on hard times. Everyone was welcome in the Marlin home ~ there were Rook games, hot coffee, cokes, homemade cakes, Rice's country ham and biscuits, sausage pinwheels, famous homemade hot doughnuts/fritters, and an empathetic listening ear. She was a Proverbs 31 woman in every way.
“It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all” and that she did.
