Ollie Earlene (Patsy) (nee White) Bradbury, a.k.a. “The Fanner,” was born in Richmond, Kentucky on October 6, 1935, and passed from the Earth on January 9, 2021 in Franklin, Tennessee. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, James Bradbury; 2 loving children Jana (Joseph Webb II), Daron (Julie Bradbury); 6 loving grandchildren Brittany Ernst, Brionna (Hunter Shepard), Brilyn Webb, Bristyl Webb, Joseph Webb III (Tripp) and James Webb; 4 great-grandchildren Scarlett Greenwell, Colorado Ernst, Providence and Jett Shepard. Patsy was an alum of Eastern Kentucky University where she graduated with a B.A. in Education, and met her husband Jim. She enjoyed a long career as a home economics teacher at Campbell County High School in Kentucky, and Fairfield Freshmen School in Ohio. Upon retirement, Patsy and Jim moved to Brentwood, TN where they rented property, travelled, hosted family and friends, enjoyed their Center Hill lake home in the summer, and Sarasota home in the winter.
Patsy loved interior design and gardening, and was an active member of garden clubs in both Brentwood, Tennessee and Bradenton/Sarasota Florida. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as the Preceptor Alpha Tau of Beta Sigma Phi Women’s Sorority. Patsy and Jim have been lifelong supporters of the University of Kentucky education scholarship program, and of children in her native Eastern Kentucky through generous contributions to the Christian Appalachian Project.
For the many who came to know Patsy, she was larger-than-life. Gregarious and engaging, she lived and loved with the energy and compassion of a teenager, until the end. She touched many lives, and will be greatly missed.
