PENNINGTON, Robert JamesAge 87 of Brentwood. Passed away August 31, 2012. Preceded in death by his mother, Susie Rinbargar; step-father, Robert Edwards; and son, Gary Lee Pennington. Survived by wife, Martha K. Pennington; son, Jim Pennington (Carolyn); daughters, Dianne Nichols, Munfordville KY; Lisabeth Pennington Bevins (Phil), Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Mike Nichols, of Munfordville, KY, Laura Mobley of Elizabethtown KY, Chris Pennington of Athens, GA, Emily Lockwood of Jacksonville FL; and 8 great-grandchildren. As a youth he became interested in flying and joined the Army Air Corps where he served as a bomber pilot. Later he became a flight instructor. He retired from American Airlines after 35 years of service. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted in the chapel of Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home at one o'clock p.m. on September 4, 2012.
