her daughters (Donna, Caroline, & Linda). The girls took care of her in the years up to her death. In Spring Hill, she had a very full calendar with many activities with family and new friends. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ. Faith was a strong part of her life where she sang in the church choir, became both a deacon and elder in her church.
Her son, Joe, had the following to say about Mom. Her attributes the kindness, generosity, and loving in his heart as being learned from her. Joe said that she would take him grocery shopping the weekend before Thanksgiving, and have him help her put together food baskets for shut-ins in her senior community. They would go deliver them the day before Thanksgiving, and if the person was open to it, they would stay for awhile and have a conversation with them before going on to the next person. At 68, she started riding on the back of a motorcycle and taking day trips on it. At 69, she became an EMT because she wasn’t happy with the 10-15 minute response for the local ambulance in her senior community. She got a scanner so that she could be on the scene before the ambulance and diagnose it for them when they arrived to could ever become half as good of a person as she was, Joe stated that he has never known her to be angry or spiteful, but she conquered everything with love and her love of cats. Joe said that if He could become half as good of a person as she was, he would be happy and satisfied with the person that he is!
As a result of her generous spirit and lively personality, she was loved by so many friends and family. Cathie was a member of Sweet Adelines and Timber Tones chorus’ along with other chorus’ over the years. Cathie was a cat enthusiast, an avid reader, and loved to travel.
