Donna J. (Bolmgren) Sells, age 71, passed away on November 26, 2022 at her second home in Brooksville, Florida. Donna grew up in Louisville, Ohio with her parents and 6 siblings. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1968, where she was an active member of 4-H and volunteered as a candy striper. She was a member of Paradise Church of Christ. Donna enjoyed playing cards, reading, sewing, playing bingo, going to Disney World, and most of all spending time with her family. During her time as a candy striper, she developed her love for taking care of people and later became a nurse. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing, operated by Walsh College, in 1971 and was one of the first women to graduate from Walsh. Right after graduation, she started her career with Mercy Medical Center, as a Labor and Delivery RN for 7 years. Then, moved on to be a RN in the Emergency Room where she remained for 38 years. During those 38 years, she also held roles on the EMS Advisory Board, EMS Coordinator, and Stroke Coordinator. Donna was also a paramedic on Louisville Fire Department from November 1989 - February 2006. She was the first female paramedic in the history of the Louisville Fire Department. Donna received the Stark County Firefighters Association Presidents Award in 2012 for her service to the Fire & EMS community. Donna was married 52 years to her beloved husband, Dean, who she met in high school while they were out bowling with friends and family. Together they created and raised a beautiful family in their hometown of Louisville, OH. All of us who call Donna our family are so blessed. Even with her very busy life, she always supported all her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sports and made her presence known with her signature whistle. After she retired, Donna wintered in Brooksville Florida with Dean. She was an active member of the Board of Directors at Camper’s Holiday and held multiple positions as Activities Director and Secretary during her time. She loved her park life and all the activities at the park. Donna’s greatest joy was seeing her children and grandchildren as she was always a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Donna is survived by her husband, Dean Sells; their children and spouses, Diana Laubacher and Matthew (Jennifer) Sells; their 4 grandchildren, Gabriella (Alexander) Reed, Griffin Sells, Mikaiah Sells, and Rylee Sells. She would tell you that she had been blessed beyond compare with her family. She is also survived by her 6 siblings, Allen (Suzanne), Carol (Ed), Beverly (Dave), Ed (Maureen), Fred (Mary), Gwen (Bob) and her many beloved nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Peggy (Anderson) Bolmgren. A celebration of life is being held in Brooksville, Florida on December 27, 2022 at 2pm at Camper’s Holiday Rec Center located at 2092 Culbreath Road, Brooksville, FL 34602.
