

He was born March 6, 1926 in Bell County, Kentucky and came to Brooksville 43 years ago from Columbus, Ohio. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, was a longtime Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Brooksville Elks Lodge, and a retired member of the board of directors for the Bayfront Wellness Center (Enrichment Center). He worked as a realtor and was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Jackson. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Debra Dean Jackson of Clearwater, Florida, Andrea Lee Jackson of Broward County, Florida and Vicki Sue & Charles Hubbard of Hollywood, Florida; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30pm, Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors. Family and friends wishing to accompany the family in procession to the cemetery should arrive at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, by 12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
