Ethel Marie Doby

She was born July 13, 1945 in St. Martinville, Louisiana and came to Brooksville 31 years ago from Los Angeles, California. She worked as a dispatcher in the animal control division for the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department in Englewood, Florida.  She was a deaconess at her church, a devout Christian, she enjoyed arts & crafts, and doing things for others.  She was a volunteer for many organizations and a faithful supporter of her church family, the Sheriff’s Department programs, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys Town, and the Shriners.  She was a prayer warrior, ready to stop whatever she was doing to offer a prayer to someone in need.  

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Doby.  She is survived by her brother, Leroy Wiltz of Lancaster, California; her sister, Barbara J. Charles of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
