
DYGERT, George Stanley, age 81, of Brooksville, FL died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Glens Falls, NY and came to the area 30 years ago from East Aurora, NY. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict and was self-employed as an insurance agent and broker for Allen, Dygert and Hauser, Inc. and was a member and greeter with Christ Lutheran Church. He was a volunteer fireman with the Hamburg (NY) and Dyke Street Volunteer Fire Departments. He was past president of the Rotary in Wellsville, NY, past president of Hamburg Rod & Gun Club, past commander of the American Legion Post 527 in Hamburg, NY, member of Western Star Lodge 1185, F & A.M in Orchard Park, NY, member of American Legion Post 186 of Brooksville, FL, past member of the Egypt Temple Shrine in Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Dygert, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law: Reverend George Stephen and Sandra Dygert of Almond, NY; daughter: Cynthia Rae Dygert of Orchard Park, NY; brother and sister-in-law: James and Carol Dygert and 2 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Friday, May 18, 2012 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. A Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church. Interment to follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association or Christ Lutheran Church.
