MIDKIFF, Herbert Lewis, age 90 of Brooksville, died Monday, December 26, 2016 at his home. Born in Hubble, West Virginia he came here 40 years ago from Tampa, Florida. He retired as dispatcher for C & O Railroad, then worked 8 years with Withlacoochee River Electric Company. He was WWII U.S. Army Veteran and member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include his wife: Joyce A. “Jo” Midkiff; sons: Thomas Midkiff of Tampa, Florida and Stephen Midkiff of Orlando, Florida; daughter: Cheryl Murphy of St. Petersburg, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation for friends will be 11am – 1pm, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Greg Brown officiating. Military honors will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.
