He was born September 5, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Brooksville 11 years ago from La Porte, Indiana. Mr. Koontz was a Mechanical Engineer and retired from Joy Manufacturing. He was a United States Army Veteran and member of the First United Methodist Church of Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife: Elizabeth Lamar Koontz; son: Steven J. Koontz of Weeki Wachee, Florida; daughters: Karin Elizabeth Lute of Parker, Colorado and Amy Lynne Koontz of Jupiter, Florida; sister: Louise Ellen Fleming of Torrance, California; and two grandchildren.
