

MCDEVITT, James Philip, “Jim,” age 73, of Brooksville, FL, died Friday August 21, 2015 at home. He was born in Easton, PA and came to the area 11 years ago from Phillipsburg, NJ. He was a graduate of St. Philips and St. James High School in Phillipsburg, NJ and was employed as a meter regulator for the Elizabethtown, NJ Gas Company. He was a member and former usher of St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church; a lifetime member of Jersey Hose #2 Fire Dept. in Phillipsburg, where he was Fireman of the Year in 1988; a member of New Jersey Exempt Fireman’s Assoc., he participated in the Cloverleaf Florida community as a former home owner’s board member. He loved to call the weekly Bingo for the ladies. Predeceased in death by first wife: Claire and brother: Philip; he is survived by wife: Anna Patrick McDevitt of Brooksville, FL; son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Kim McDevitt of Easton, PA; daughters and son-in-law: Lori and John Haney; Kim McDevitt-Kinney; step-daughter and son-in-law: Jodie and Jeff Vanya, all of Easton, PA; step-sons and daughters-in-law: Edward and Andrea Patrick of Mountain Top, PA; Craig and Melissa Patrick of Kulpmont, PA; brother and sister-in-law: Edward and Fran McDevitt of Bethlehem, PA; sisters: Eileen Mondzak of Phillipsburg, NJ; Rose Perkins of Easton, PA; Maureen Nardo of Brooksville, FL; Margi McDevitt of Phillipsburg, NJ; 14 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren; his loving companion, Coco. Jim held a special place in his heart for his nephew, Kevin McDevitt and he was a longtime fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00pm, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church. Interment will be out of state at a later date.
