DiLeo, Jeffrey Robert of Brooksville, FL, ascended peacefully to heaven on October 4, 2010, while in the arms of his loving mother, Virginia, and surrounded by his immediate family, devoted caregiver, and his faithful cat, Bullet. Although Jeffrey’s condition made him appear frail, he overcame insurmountable odds and physical challenges, living well beyond what his doctors had expected twenty-nine years ago. Jeffrey’s brilliant smile and gentle laugh were enough to warm the hearts of all that he knew. Jeffrey’s courage is an inspiration to all that had the opportunity to know him, teaching them that each day is a blessing and to never take for granted the life we are given. Jeffrey spent the first twenty-one years of his life in Bridgewater, NJ. He is survived by his mother, Virginia DiLeo and his father, Mario DiLeo of Brooksville, FL; his brothers, John DiLeo of Somerville, NJ and Joseph DiLeo of Miami, FL; his sister, Jaime DiLeo of Jacksonville, FL; his caring grandmother, Alberta Corbett of Brooksville, FL; and his longtime caregiver, Frankie Addison. His sisters, Terri Carmon, Dona Geren, Lori Fellin, Judi Scannell and Tami Case, all of NJ, also survive him. While Jeffrey was not able to walk on earth, he is now flying with angels in heaven. His memory will live on through those closest to him. Jeffrey was blessed to have a long, happy life and a wonderful, caring family who will carry on his memory in their hearts forever. He was loved. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions in his memory may be made to: Somerset Handicapped Children’s Treatment Center, 377 Union Avenue, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
