Jill lived a life defined by her unwavering love, selflessness, and quiet strength. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who found her greatest joy in caring for others.
She had a deep love for reading, often getting lost in romance and mystery novels. In retirement, she relished her ability to travel, shop, and live freely trying new things. But above all else, she cherished her time with family and just being "Grandma". She never missed an opportunity to offer a kind word, a warm embrace, or a thoughtful gesture. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her love will be felt forever.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Cook; her children, Ryan Cook and his fiancé Brittany Dorn and Ashley (Cook) Leko and her husband, Chris; and her treasured granddaughter, Megan Leko, with whom she shared an especially deep bond.
Jill is also survived by her siblings Don Young and Julie (Bright) Randolph and her husband, Greg; and a host of other family members and relatives. She is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Diane Burrow.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 9:30-10:00am, Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Merritt Funeral Home Brooksville (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville FL 34601), where Services begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow at 11:30am at Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513).
"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
— Helen Keller
“Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be. In the quiet pages of a beloved book, echoes of the voice are found, along with shared wisdom and lasting comfort. The stories remind us that love transcends the final chapter, living on in the narratives carried and lessons learned. Was just hoping for one more chapter.”
