He was born June 5, 1950 in Jersey City, New Jersey and came to this area 28 years ago. He served in the United States Army and was a writer for the Sun Journal and Hernando Today. He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his brothers: James Cermak of Manchester, New Jersey, Walter Cermak of Spring Hill, Florida, Peter Cermak of Spring Hill, Florida, and Thomas Cermak of Bayonne, New Jersey; sister: Eileen Mulcahey of Lake Havasu, Arizona.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00am–11:00am, Friday, April 6, 2018 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am, with Deacon Mike Ruffner officiating. Interment will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens.
