LEWIS, Mary Rebecca, age 89 of Brooksville died Wed., Sept. 10, 2003. Member of Eden Baptist Church. She loved going to Sunday School and enjoyed hearing the old hymns in church. When she first came to Brooksville as a teenager, she sang duets with her brother-in-law in the First Baptist Church. She was the ultimate optimist, always finding good in everyone, with never a harsh word for others. Never rich in worldly goods her great wealth was her beloved family, relatives and friends. She took joy in simple things, flowers, working in daddy's garden. She loved hugs, sunny days, good music, TV, loose clothing, bright colors, especially red & pink; she enjoyed her morning coffee with two newspapers to read. She relished fish & grits, fresh fruits & vegetables and chocolate. She was always straight forward, honest and thoughtful of everyone, never failing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Her effusive thanks was always given to anyone who did her even the smallest favor. Mom?s motto was ?always look on the bright side of life?. She was one of a kind, the world seldom sees. Her beautiful face and happy heart will live with us forever.Preceded in death by her husband, Emil Aitchison Lewis in 1987. They were married in Tampa in 1931.
