Richard "Rick" D. Woods

Rick was born in Saranac Lake, NY in 1946, attended Saranac Lake High School – graduating in 1965.  He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Landry, in January of 1966.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1966, served on the U.S.S. WASP that was stationed in Boston, MA and was honorably discharged in November 1971.  He worked as a mechanic in Natick for several years before joining the UPS family as a mechanic and worked his way up to Fleet Manager until the time of his retirement.  He and his wife, Karen, retired to Spring Hill, FL in 2002.

Rick is survived by his wife Karen (of 54 years), son Richard, Jr. and wife,  Anne Melideo of Natick, MA, daughter,  Kristina currently of St. Petersburg, FL, brother William (Bill) and wife Rosemarie (“RB”) of Natick, MA and several cousins.

Rick was predeceased by his father Richard A. Woods, mother Elinor Kelley Woods and brother  Michael, all of Saranac Lake, NY.

There are no services at this time. 

Arrangements will be made at a later time at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
