Robert John Schafer

SCHAFER, Robert John, age 89 of Brooksville, FL died Mon., March 7, 2011 at Oak Hill Hospital.  He came here 35 years ago from his native, Springfield, MA.  He was a retired firefighter for the City of Springfield, retired school bus driver for the Hernando County School System, a WWII U.S. Navy Seabee, member of the Aripeka Elks Lodge #2520, Fraternal Order of Eagles #3153 of New Port Richey, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #51 of Spring Hill and St. Anthony Catholic Church, Brooksville.  Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law:  John R. & Catherine Schafer of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren:  Daniel, Stephen, Michael & Nathaniel and his good friend, Violet Thurston of Spring Hill, FL.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys.  Visitation for friends will be 10:30 – 11:00am, Thur., March 10, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church where funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am.  Interment will be at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, Massachusetts.
