

PEARSON, Tony McArthur, of Brooksville, FL passed away peacefully at Baldomero-Lopez Veterans’ Nursing Home in Land O Lakes, FL on November 14, 2018 at the age of 76. He was born April 19, 1942 in Lakeland, GA and moved to Brooksville with his family when he was a small child. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy (Red) and Pauline Pearson and his brother Samuel (Bobby) Pearson. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lynne Pearson; his oldest daughter, Amanda Bond and her husband Dudley Bond, of Brooksville; his youngest daughter, Rachel Riddle and her husband David Riddle, of Spanish Fort, AL; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Bond and Courtney Riddle; sister-in-law, Johanna Young and her husband Michael Young; many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Hernando High School in 1962 where he played baseball. He proudly served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. When he returned home he worked most of his life in banking and finance until his retirement. He then had time to really enjoy his passion for woodworking, making beautiful pieces of furniture his family will always treasure. He loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandpa. Those who knew him will always remember what a jokester he was. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where a Memorial Service will begin at 7:00pm, with Pastor Doug Zipperer officiating. An Inurnment will take place at 10:30am, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors. Following the Inurnment family and friends are invited to the Pearson residence for refreshments to continue sharing in Tony's memory.
