

HOPE, William Grier, III “Bill”, age 75 of Brooksville, Florida died Monday, February 4, 2013 at his home. Bill was a lifelong resident of Brooksville and commercial fishing guide, and as Captain of the Peggy Lee, took many guide trips with locals and celebrities alike. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, member of and active donor to the Coastal Conservation Association, past member of Brooksville Golf & Country Club, the Masonic Lodge, Orlando, Order of Eastern Star, Brooksville and was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buck & Geraldine Hope, first wife, Theresa and daughters, Priscilla Lee Hope and Pamela Lynn Lowe. Survivors include his wife: Peggy; son: William Grier, IV of Brooksville; son-in-law: L. Craft Lowe of Brooksville; brothers: Joe of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Dale of St. Marks, FL and Charles; sisters: Frances Anderson of Albany, GA and Rhonda Chancey of Old Town, FL; grandchildren: Cheney & Cody Lowe; great grandchildren: Ariana, Katlyain, Saphria Rose and Elle Mae. Visitation for friends will be 6 - 8pm, Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 10:00am, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Brooksville Cemetery with Pastors David Hope and Bob Hope officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HPH Hospice.
