

Al was born November 24,1939 in Brunswick, GA to the late Manuel Jose Vicent and Evelyn Ruth Battle Vicent. He graduated from Glynn Academy in 1958. On July 1st,1972 Al opened what would become a very successful pool business called Port City Pools. After 52 years in business Al closed Port City Pools, being the oldest pool builder in the United States, due to his illness. Al deeply loved his family and friends, spending time with his grandchildren, building things in his garage, and working in his yard. Countless people have enjoyed his dinosaurs made out of confederate jasmine at his home on highway 17. In his 84 years he accomplished many things including building and piloting his own airplane and achieving his first and second degree black belt/instructor in the art of self-defense, kenpo karate, and kung-fu.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Evelyn Pittman (Wesley), brother Manuel Jose Vicent, brother Eugene Marion Vicent (Ruth), brother Danny Wayne Vicent and daughter Amanda Lee Baugher.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sandra Lee Vicent of Dublin; granddaughter Heidi Lee Arnold (Andy) of Odum; son Roger Wayne Pearce Jr. of Brunswick; grandson James Pearce of Greenville, SC; granddaughter Cassie Pearce of Greenville, SC; great grandchildren, Lexie Lee Gibson, Gracie Lee Lightfoot, Bentlee Andrew Arnold and Charles Kendall Ivey; great great-granddaughter Novalee Grace Garner; sister-in-law Ruth Vicent and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home.
