Andrea Leigh van Velzen

Andrea Leigh Van Velzen, 46, of Brunswick, GA died Monday, the 11th of November, 2013, at Southeast Georgia Health System. Funeral service will be held Friday, the 15th of November, 2013, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. Felix Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. .

van Velzen

Mrs. Van Velzen was born the 20th of April 1967 in Brunswick, GA, and was raised by her loving parents, John Richard Beddard, Jr., and Cora Faye Baker. She was a native of Brunswick, GA and Graduate of Glynn Academy High. Mrs. Van Velzen was employed as a Media Specialist for Glynn County Schools prior to retirement from the school system.

Mrs. Van Velzen enjoyed being around people and working as a volunteer. She devoted her time and energy both before and after retirement in numerous school settings. As a creative and talented individual, she would assist those around with anything they possibly needed, loved creating crafts, decorating and entertaining. She was a giver at heart who will be missed by many.

Mrs. Van Velzen was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Nicholas Baker and Ida Baker; and her paternal grandparents, John R. Beddard and Mavis Beddard.

Survivors include her husband, Ron P. Van Velzen; her son, Joshua R. Van Velzen, her sister, Chanda R. Mastenbroek; and two brother-in-laws, Peter W. Mastenbroek and Richard A. Van Velzen; other family members, John W. Butts; Aaron Baker and Family; Jess Baker and Family; and The Beddard Family.
