Surrounded by her loving family at Southeast Georgia Health System, Betty Jo Crosby Hutcheson “Nana”, 73, of Brunswick, transitioned into her new life and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord on December 29, 2010. Born November 18, 1937. Betty was the daughter of the late Jesse and Ethel Crosby. Betty is survived by a daughter, Shannon Westberry, a son ,Josh Hutcheson (Valerie) both of Brunswick, a stepdaughter, Jeanie Lee (Harold) of Glenville, grandchildren, Keegan Lang Daniel (Aaron) of Tifton and Ben Westberry of Brunswick, sisters, Dr. Eldis Sanford of Kingsland and Diane Johnson of Guyton and several step-grandchildren, nieces ,nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years; Josh Hutcheson, Sr., a sister, Faye Underwood, a brother, Jesse Crosby, Jr., and a step-daughter, Julie Lee.
She was the owner of American Metabolic Associates for 23 years and a charter member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Her grandchildren, Keegan and Ben, filled her days with joy, laughter and sometimes mischievous behavior. She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday 1/3/11 in the Pine Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Underwood and Rev. Dave Gettings officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Raymond Solomon, Mark Flanagan, Justin Anderson, Fire Control Technician First Class Ben Lang, Greg Underwood, Bryan Underwood, Randy Crosby and Derek Anders.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Ahmed El-Sharkawi, Dr. Stephen Chitty, Barbara Murrah, Michelle Holloway, Megan Brown, Michelle Hooks, and Norah Shusko (nurses of C.C.U.), Dr. Antonio Moran, Beverly and Ed Rhoden, Javi Verduzco, Patrick Carver, and Walter Idhe.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Pm Sunday 1/2/11.
