Byron "Pat" Patrick Nail Sr.

Byron Patrick Nail Sr., 67, of Brunswick entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, May 2, 2022. Pat, as he was affectionately known, was the son of the late Harwell Nail and the late Evelyn Kelly Nail.

Pat was a lifelong resident of Brunswick and a graduate of Glynn Academy. He was a 1976 graduate of Jacksonville University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemistry and Biology. He had a successful career as a safety manager for 27 years; first with Union Carbide Corporation and then with Rhone Poulenc. Pat was a very outgoing person that never met a stranger. He loved to talk to people and get to know them. He was also an avid reader and was a very intellectual man. He enjoyed camping and enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. To know Pat was to love Pat. He loved family above and beyond all things. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Kathryn Nail; two sons, Bryon P. Nail Jr. and Kenneth O. Nail, Three wonderful grandchildren, Elizabeth Young, Hayden Young, and Evelee M. Nail; also a sister and brother-in-law, Roxanne and Richard McKinna.

A graveside service to honor Pat’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 9, 2022 in Homeward Cemetery with Pastor Kelly Medders officiating.

The family greatly appreciates memorial contributions made in Pat’s memory to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
