Calvin L. Henderson, Jr., 62, of Brunswick, departed this life Saturday, August 28, 2021, at SGHS Brunswick. Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM, Saturday, September 4, 2021, in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Hennecke officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Jason Coakley, Austin Edwards, Ben Donovan, Kory Stephens, Randy Jackson, and Ed Henderson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Cummings, Dale Wages, Mike Wages, Jay Wright, and R.J. Pate.
Born December 1, 1958, in Brunswick, Georgia, to the late Calvin L. Henderson Sr., and Betty Cauley Henderson. He was a graduate of Brunswick High School Class of 1976. Cal retired as a Nuclear Engineer and belonged to Pipe Fitters and Welders Local 177. He had lived in Glynn County for most of his life and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Cal was an avid golfer and enjoyed building most anything he could imagine but his favorite pastime was making memories with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Robbin Henderson of Brunswick, three daughters, Amanda Coakley and husband, Jason, of Irmo, SC; Alisha Edwards and husband, Austin, of Gibson City, IL; and Alison Donovan and husband, Ben, of Heyworth, IL; seven grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Coakley; Bryar and Brady Edwards; Jameson, Willow and Emery Donovan; three sisters, Rose Kimmig (husband, Chuck) of Sanford, FL; Rita Roberts (husband, Bruce) of Glennville, GA; and Rhonda Davis (husband, Jim) of Ayden, NC; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Cal’s honor to First Tee of Golden Isles, Brunswick Christian Academy, First Free Will Baptist of Brunswick, St Marks Episcopal Church, or any local charity of your choice.
