Carl Crandall Houston, age 85, of Brunswick, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Mr. Houston was a life-long resident of Glynn County and served as a MP in the Army during WWII. He was the former owner/operator of Houston Tackle and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Mr. Houston was also a member of the Masons, and a charter member of Southside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Gussie C. Houston and a son Carl Lester Houston.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Houston; 5 children and Frank Houston, Sandra Pelkey (Barry), Gerald Houston (Nancy), David Houston (Kathi), and Brian Houston, all of Brunswick; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Crandall officiating.
