Cynthia Ann Mitchell, age 69, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. She was born on December 11, 1956, in Brunswick, Georgia, and was raised on St. Simons Island alongside her siblings, where she built the foundation of a life centered on family, love, and compassion.
Cynthia was the heart and glue of her family. She possessed a rare generosity of spirit and a deep kindness that made everyone around her feel loved and cared for. She had an extraordinary gift for nurturing others and gave her love freely, always putting the needs of her family first. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, who were the true joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Seth Mitchell; her sister, Betty Coker; her mother, Dorothy Lee Sloan; and her father, Charles Henry Ribbron Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Mitchell; her children Kyle Mitchell (wife Jessica Mitchell), Tyler Mitchell, and Jennifer Mullen; and her cherished grandchildren Reed Mitchell, Ella Mitchell, Cora Mitchell, and Riley Mitchell. She is also survived by her siblings Vickie Ribbron, Chuck Ribbron, and Kathy Breese.
Cynthia cherished time spent outdoors and with those she loved. She enjoyed riding her E-Bike alongside Eddie and going fishing together. She found peace and purpose in raising butterflies and tending to her butterfly garden, a reflection of her gentle and nurturing nature. Some of her most treasured moments were spent cooking and enjoying crabs with Ella, watching sports with Reed, and hosting lively taco parties with Riley and Cora—memories her family will forever hold close.
To all who knew her, Cynthia was a steady presence—a shoulder to lean on and an ear that truly listened. Her warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love created a sense of comfort and belonging that will be deeply missed. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy lives on through the family she held so closely together and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.
