Mrs. Dorothy M. Gibson

Dorothy “Dot” M. Gibson, 82, of Brunswick, went home to the Lord on December 22, 2012, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 2PM Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Entombment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with KellyBorn, Austin Rhodes, Dawson Hickey, Carrie Hurley, Autumn Rhodes, Craig Hurley, Norman Blood, Bud McDonald, and Landon Jones serving as pallbearers.

Born March 31, 1930 in Glynn County Georgia to the late Fisher Metz and Claudia Spriggs, she attended Glynn Academy and was a homemaker raising four children. She was a loving mother and wife and loved the Lord. Spending most of her life in Glynn County, Mrs. Gibson along with her husband and others helped found Frederica Academy in the old Brunswick Hospital. She also served on the PTA and was a Class Mom, as well as a good neighbor and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Satilla Baptist Church in Hortense, GA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Lee Gibson, two brothers, Steve Metz and Harold Metz, a sister, Myrtle Metz, and two grandchildren, Teresa Ann Born and Loren Thomas Hickey.

Survivors include her four daughters, Brenda Miller (Johnny), Linda Blood (Norman), Ann Hurley (Craig), all of Brunswick, and Glenda “Monkey” Eubanks (Harold) of Kamas, UT, seven grandchildren, Kelly Lee Born, Thomas “TL” Lloyd Eubanks (Jane), Marcie Ann Bordinko Jackson(Ron),Courtney R. Blood Highsmith(Bud), Haila Terese Hickey Jones (Landon), Dawson Lee Hickey, and Carrie Anona Hurley, twelve great grandchildren, Sidney Joy Born, Austin J. Rhodes, Autumn R. Rhodes, Taiten Jones, Lillie Jones, Emily Grace Eubanks, Adam Lloyd Eubanks, Karlie Ann Bordinko, Tyson Thomas Bordinko, Aubrie Jackson, Jenika Jackson, and Kayleb Jackson.
