Gerry was the daughter of WC and Aline Shaw. She was a graduate of Glynn Academy and worked at the Florida Times Union and Publix prior to joining the team at Walmart 16 years ago. She worked in the sporting goods department and made many friends. She was a true “people person” and enjoyed working. In her spare time, Gerry enjoyed watching DVD’s.
She is survived by three children; a son, Ben Flanders, Sr. (Robyn Carroll) of Hortense and two daughters, Kathy Hopkins (John) of Brunswick and Robin Rolls of Nahunta; a sister, Winifred Long of Lubbock, TX, eleven grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, July 8th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 am at Bethel United Methodist Church with Brother Scott Byron officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Christopher Blair, Dakota Blair, David Blair, Benny Flanders, Johnathan Flanders, Roy Rolls and Tommy Rolls.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
