

Elizabeth Redding Walker, 93, of Brunswick, departed this life Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 2PM in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Medders and Rev. Kirk Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with Brian Rainey, David Erskine, Ken Ange, John Calhoun, Earl Rainey, and William Rogers serving as pallbearers.
Born July 4, 1923 in Lowndes County, Georgia to the late Thomas L. and Hattie W. Redding, she was a graduate of Hahira High School, and also a graduate of Perry Business School in Valdosta. Mrs. Walker had been a resident of Glynn County for over 55 years and was a member of Way of The Cross Baptist Church. She was given the gift of music and played guitar as well as write songs that she sang in local area churches she attended. Mrs. Walker was also an avid reader, enjoyed needlework and crochet, and writing poetry. She was a retired bookkeeper having worked at several auto dealerships in Brunswick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie F. Walker, a son, Wayne Gerald Walker, a daughter, Tammie Walker Miller, a granddaughter, Lana Whitcomb, a sister, Prudence Redding Bell, and five brothers, Buran L. Redding, Veron Redding, Brooks Redding, Randall Redding, and Harlan Redding.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Elizabeth Ange and husband Kenneth of Jamesville, NC, Nancy Diann Rainey and husband Earl of Brunswick, and Ellen L. Walker Powell of Brunswick, seven grandchildren, Pamela Calhoun, Marcia Medders, Margaret Willingham, Brian Rainey, Christopher Walker, Lisa Laughter, and David Erskine, several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1PM until the funeral hour Friday, March 10, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of The Golden Isles. www.edomillerandsons.com
