Emily Smith

Emily Woods Smith, 71, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1954, to the late Jason S. Woods and Minnie Bernice Woods. A graduate of Glynn Academy and Brunswick Junior College, Emily was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished friend. Family was the center of her life, and she was known for her caring heart, quiet strength, and unwavering, unconditional love for those she held dear.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Smith; her children, Emily Danette Lockhart, Christon Smith Griffis (Harrison), and Chelsey Smith McNicoll (David); her grandchildren, Shelby Bailey Griffis, Reagan Kendall Griffis, Jacob Lane McNicoll, John Turner McNicoll, Carson Hudson Griffis, and Charlotte Rose McNicoll; and her brothers, Don Woods, Glenn Woods, and Wayne Woods. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sons, Jason Brice Lockhart and Richard Jason Lockhart. Emily lived her life firmly grounded in faith. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, resting in the presence of her Lord.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6pm until 8 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral home with Bishop Calvin Anderson officiating.
