Everett W. Moriarty, 82, of Townsend, departed this life Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Tattnall Health Care in Reidsville, Georgia. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10AM Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien, with Mr. Cecil Stafford officiating. Born January 21, 1933 in New Madrid, Missouri to the late Hershel and Hattie H. Moriarty, he was a USAF Veteran and retried from Civil Service. Mr. Moriarty had been a resident of McIntosh County since 1980, and was a member of The Lower Altamaha Historical Society, The Savannah Historical Society, and The Darien Historical Society. He was a member of The Sons of The Confederacy and also volunteered with The Red Cross.
Survivors include a niece, Kelly Davidson of Ohio, a special cousin, Martha Henry Hunter of New Madrid, MO, as well as several other cousins, and caretakers Jimmy and Janine Hunter of Baxley. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.edomillerandsons.com
