George Ray Buffkin

Mr. Buffkin was born the 13th of January 1943 in Lumberton, North Carolina to the late Alvie Buffkin, and the late Juanita Craven Buffkin.

He moved to St. Simons in 1965 and established Buffkin Plumbing Company in 1970 which he ran until 2015. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending his time fishing and traveling with friends.

In Addition to Mr. Buffkin’s parents, he is preceded in death by a son, George Ray Buffkin, Jr (Hagan), two brothers, Alvie Buffkin Jr (AJ) of Baxley, and Rembert Buffkin of Baxley, two sisters, Bernice Breach of Fort Pierce, FL, and Dea Elizabeth Mann of Surrency.

Survivors include Mr. Buffkin’s children Arian Buffkin of Brunswick, Allyson Buffkin of St. Simons, and Ryan Buffkin (Brittany) of Brunswick; grandchildren Jaymes Buffkin, Justin Demery, RJ Patterson, Jocelyn Demery, James Demery, Isaiah Patterson, Avery Buffkin and Noah Buffkin; a sister, Eloise Owens, of Fort Pierce, FL and a brother James Earl Buffkin, of Baxley, several nieces and nephews.

A visitation is to be held 4 p.m. till 6 p.m. Saturday, the 21st of August 2021 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., Brunswick, Georgia 31520.
