Gwendolyn Wyeth Dubs

Mrs. Dubs was born February 3, 1933 in Screven, Georgia the daughter of the late Henry Lawton Kicklighter and the late Mattie Kicklighter. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Clarence Jonas Dubs and a devoted mother. She and her late husband owned Dubs Jewelers, she played a vital role in the business for many years. Mrs. Dubs had resided in Brunswick since 1972 and was a member of The Grace Place. She will always be remembered for being an independent lady who found a way to overcome any obstacle that stood in her way.

Mrs. Dubs was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lawton and Mattie Kicklighter. She is survived by her son, Jack M. Sutton Jr (Linda); also her daughter, Jill W. Sutton and a special friend Jeanne Sullivan; her wonderful grandchildren, Jack Mitchell Sutton (Christine), Dawn Elizabeth Dubs (James Berak Jr); her precious great grandchildren, Caden Mitchell Sutton and Katelyn Arealia Sutton; a caring niece and best friend, Sherry O’Gorman. A sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, also several nieces and nephews also survive.

Gwen loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was also a lady that was devoted in her faith and believed in the power of prayer. Gwen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.

You are cordially invited to join the family in celebrating Gwen’s life at a Graveside service that will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Tim Short officiating the service.

The family would like to extend a warm heartfelt thank you to her niece, Sherry O’Gorman and the staff of Hospice of The Golden Isles for the wonderful care rendered on the behalf of Gwendolyn Dubs.

The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Gwendolyn’s memory to Hospice of The Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Pkwy, Brunswick, GA 31525.
