A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, at the American Legion Post 137, 1859 Blount Crossing, Darien, GA 31305. All family and friends are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
The native and lifelong resident of Darien was the son of the late William and Nora Gale of Darien.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired commercial shrimp fisherman. He was a 50-year lifetime member of the American Legion Post 137.
He is also predeceased by his wife, Mary Gale; siblings, Everett Gale, Dave Gale, Lucille Collier, Fannie Buchanan, Ada Lanoux, Franklin Gale and Elnora Gale.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Porter of Brunswick; a brother, Kenneth Gale of Cairo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family requests donations be made in Jack’s memory to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
