I remember Jimmy from our boyhoods, especially at family reunions. His mother, Helen, was my first cousin.

As Jimmy’s young cousin, I remember looking up to him with the hero worship of a five-year-old.  His esteemed father, longtime honored principal of Fayette County High School, has also always been held high in my regard.  Both of them gently and privately coaxed me toward opening my intellect to a broadening view of the world of science.  His dear mom Helen was beloved by my mom, her younger sister Martha Sue McAlexander (née Mathis).  Helen was Editor and I believe founder of the Fayette County News.  My mom Martha just joined all of them in Bliss about an hour ago at the ripe old age of 94 just a couple of weeks before my 71st birthday.  Blessings on all of them.
