

James Malcolm Fiveash, 83, of Brunswick, GA passed away May 25, 2015. He was a Class of 1949 graduate of Glynn Academy and 1953 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, holding a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He was the president of Georgia’s oldest trucking company, Five Transportation Company, and a serviceman in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and served as Junior and Senior Warden at St. David’s Episcopal. He was president of the Kiwanis Club and the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia. He also served as the president of the Goodyear Elementary PTA. He was an Eagle Scout, member of Sigma Chi fraternity, and served on the board of directors of Ameris Bank and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Charles Oliver Fiveash Sr. and Mrs. Ruby Ray Mathis, and his sister Mary Fiveash Severance.
He is survived by his wife, Clara, his brother Charles Oliver Fiveash, Jr. (Dorothy), and his three sons, Charles McLendon Fiveash (Lang), David Malcolm Fiveash (Lori), and Bryan Liles Fiveash (Anna). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two nieces and two nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 2:00 PM. Reverend Alan Akridge will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia or St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
