

James Alexander Langford Jr. Jr., age 66, of Saint Simons Island, Georgia passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025.James Alexander Langford (“Jimmy”), age 66, of St. Simons Island, passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2025.
Jimmy was born on July 5, 1959, in Waycross, Georgia, to Sandra Smith Langford and the late James Alexander Langford, Sr. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1977 and began a lifelong career of hard work and dedication. He worked at Langford Auto Parts before joining Symrise, where he devoted 38 years of service before retiring in 2022.
In 2015, Jimmy married the love of his life, Tammy Huebner Langford. A lifelong member of the Methodist Church, Jimmy lived his faith deeply yet humbly, always cherishing time with family and friends. His greatest joy was becoming “Pops” to his grandchildren, a role he treasured above all others. Jimmy also had a lifelong love for anything outdoors, whether on the boat, riding bikes, or spending time at the beach. He will be remembered for his steady kindness, humor, and love for those around him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James Alexander Langford, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Langford; his children, Zach Langford (Ashley), Caitlin Sheffield (RJ), and Madison Langford; step-daughter, Shelby Ramsey; grandchildren, Abbey Langford, Grayson Langford, Weston Sheffield, Hudson Sheffield and Baby Girl Sheffield; his mother, Sandra Smith Langford; his brother, Jon Robert Langford (Terri); nephew, Grant Langford; and niece, Kimsey Langford.
A service to honor Jimmy’s life will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Simons United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Captain’s Bluff, 300 Stevens Road, St. Simons Island. Jimmy will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.
Jimmy’s family and friends will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Jimmy loved to wear bright colors, and in his honor the family invites everyone to celebrate his life by showing some color in their attire. Come as you are—casual dress is more than welcome.
