James Oliver Taylor, III died peacefully early on the morning of June 13, 2022. He was 73. James was born in Brunswick, Georgia to Diddy and Mary Taylor on August 30, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Chip. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sister, Lisa Taylor and her husband Paul Mannen of Acworth, Georgia; a niece, Charlie D'Amico and her husband Giovanni also their two children Luca and Layla of Atlanta; his nephew, Judd Taylor and his wife Jenn also their two children Evie and Katy of Flower Mound, Texas; and a nephew, Ross Taylor and his husband Brian Martin of Crawfordville, Florida also Ross's two children Zach and Jonathan. Also surviving are his uncle Boney Hagan and cousins in Virginia. And most importantly is his best friend Linda Hambright of Brunswick, whom he dearly loved.
James graduated from Glynn Academy in 1966, Brunswick Junior College (then) and followed studies at South Georgia Technical and Vocational School in Americus, Ga. Following school, he worked many years twisting wrenches with Ken Bush at the Foreign Car Center. When our Dad's health began to fail, Jimmy joined him as a local contractor. After Diddy's death, James continued the business until his health required him to retire a few years ago.
James was a loyal, gentle, honest, and true human resisting technology as long as possible. He carried a pager and flip phone and still used a dial up modem. He loved old pocket watches, old coins, and old vinyl. But most of all, he was a great caretaker, of things, of places, and especially people.
There will be a very casual gathering to celebrate his life on Saturday, June 18th at 4 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Please come to share some stories. Interment will follow at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted into the care of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home www.edomillerandsons.com
