Born May 8, 1925 in Savannah, Ga., to James Wesley and Elizabeth Johnson Rogers and was one of eight siblings, five brothers, one being a twin, and three sisters. She was a life-long member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Savannah. She loved playing the piano and singing harmony with her sisters.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Johnson Stewart, Sr.
Survivors are her children Dr. N. J. Stewart, Jr. (Sarah) of Columbia, S.C., Janis Folsom (Bill), Stephen Stewart, Sr., (Pam) both of Brunswick, Keith Stewart (Stephanie) of Jesup, a sister, Mary Laros, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held Sunday February 20, in Savannah, Ga., with Rev. James Staubes officiating.
The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Salvation Army.
