Jeffery “Jeff” R. Granade was lifted into the arms of his savior Jesus Christ at his home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 6, 2022 with his wife of 47 years by his side. Born to the late Ivey and Patricia Granade in Macon, Georgia on July 28, 1951, when times were simple and uncluttered. Jeff grew up playing little league baseball, riding his bike uphill “both ways” in Macon, enjoying his many friends, and fishing with his father. Jeff graduated from Valdosta State University in 1974, and was a faithful and loyal employee of H&H Lifestyles on St. Simons Island for over 40 years.
Jeff is survived by his wife Jeanie, who every morning of their marriage before his recent health setbacks, brought her a cup of coffee and would not leave for work before leaving her a special note. He is also survived by his daughter, Tiffany Murray (Cliff), who was his pride and joy. “Tiffany’s Daddy”, whom he was proud to be known as, made the world a better place, and the memories the two have made together will remain as cherished souvenirs. Jeff was a father who always supported and encouraged every endeavor and has left an impact on his daughter to be determined and resilient in the face of adversity. Jeff would always close his conversations with Tiffany as “I Love My Baby” and “Take Care of Your Boys”, a morning text from him and evening conversations with him will be sorely missed by Tiffany. Also, survived by his grandsons Cohen and Carter Murray, which the sun rose and set upon. Thursday was a special day for Jeff and his family, every Thursday was the day all got to see “Papa”. Jeff’s love of baseball is one that he has passed on to his grandsons as well as teaching them how to play chess and to truly enjoy a good board game. He would willingly play anything either boy wanted him to learn. One important trait in life he wanted to instill in his grandsons was “to never give up on yourself”. His prayer for them was to never stop dreaming, and never stop believing, giving life everything they have got knowing that life will give its best back to them. Jeff always put in an extra effort for his grandsons, caring for their every need, he was the happiest when he was in their presence and cherished attending sporting and school events while cheering them on. He was so proud of all of their accomplishments and most of all to be called their Papa. Jeff is also survived by his work family at H&H Lifestyles who were special and devoted friends to him for many years. Jeff loved to go to work, it was a part of who he was, and he remained focused on his goal of continuing to work as long as he possibly could. He admired and loved working with Bill, Sandra, and Trey Brunson, who he considered like family to him.
Jeff had a quiet wit about him and always loved a good joke. He was a selfless, kind, easy-going man who never lost his temper. Jeff was strong and courageous through all health adversities life threw at him, while maintaining a gentle, patient spirit. He would always graciously thank those who assisted him. Expressing gratitude to the staff of Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Pulmonary Medicine for their guidance, and especially Dr. Stephen Chitty for the years of not only being Jeff’s doctor, but being a person Jeff trusted for his advice, suggestions, and just belief in him as a person and patient. Visits with Dr. Chitty most definitely included a conversation about the Atlanta Braves! Go Braves! Also, thanking Dr. Astor T. Lim, Maria, and Pam for always caring and taking time for us.
Jeff is now in Heaven in comfort and peace searching for a prime fishing hole, asking where he can meet his baseball favorites, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, reuniting with those who went before him, and looking out for those who will miss him dearly here on Earth.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 9th, 2022 at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, GA.
