

Mr. Horton was a native of Valdosta, Georgia and had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 60 years. He was a graduate of Glynn Academy class of 1960. He was retired as a self-employed Landscape, Excavation. He was a former employee of Brunswick Pulp and Paper Co.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and local Race Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Owen Horton, Sr. and Francis Morris Horton
Survivors are his wife, Yvonne Horton of Brunswick, son, David Horton of Brunswick, three daughters, Deanne Vickers (Mick) of Brunswick, Donna Owens (Mike) of Hortense, Ga., and Debra Horton-Knight (Jim) of Brunswick, five grandchildren, Jonathan Beard, Frankie Horton, A. J. Horton all of Brunswick, Brittney Owens and Brinson Owens both of Hortense, three brothers, Larry Horton of St. Simons, Jim Horton of Hortense, Bill Sanders of Cochran, ga., a sister, Charlene Burns of St. Simons, three nephews, Jason Horton and Jerry Horton both of Brunswick, and Justin Brown of Stapleton, Ala.
Services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday 11/30/10 in the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Callahan and rev. Caleb Everman officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Antonia Moran and Staff, Staff of the Cancer Care Center of the Southeast Georgia Health System, Staff of Heartland Hospice in Brunswick, Emory Boyd, Toby O’Quinn, Tony Teston, James E. Jones, Vaughn Rowland, George Bufkin, Steve Hammock, Darryl joiner and Roger Davis, Sr.
The family request those wishing may make contributions to their local Church, their local charity or the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Monday night.
