

Mrs. Tyre was born September 20, 1932 to Bill and Ruby Spoon of Brunswick. She was a lifelong resident of Brunswick and a member of the Fellowship Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women of Faith of Fellowship Methodist Church. She was retired from the Board of Education as a School Bus driver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Tyre and a son-in-law, Randy Spell.
Survivors are her son, Herbert “Herby” Tyre, Jr. (Syndie) of Brunswick, two daughter, Ann T. Thomas (Eddie) of Hazlehurst, Ga., and Sandy Spell of Brunswick., four grandchildren, Matthew Tyre, Miranda Sailors, Carly Spell all of Brunswick and Josh Thomas of Hazlehurst, Ga., three great grandchildren, Mykayla Sailors, Corey Melton and Cassidy Melton of Brunswick, three sisters, Geneva Crooms and Willene James both of Brunswick, and Norma Smith of Ashland, Al., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday 2/24/11 in the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Crooms, Donald Pittman and Rev. Michael Batten officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Josh Thomas, Matthew Tyre, Steve Tyre, David James, Scott Taylor, Jody Crooms, Shadrick Sailors and Todd Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be: Members of the Fellowship Methodist Church, Special Care givers, Sarah Lewis, Betty Holmes, and Mary Spell, Rev. Joel Longshore, Maudine Cribb, Dr. Eric Bournigal, Donald Pittman and Staff of Hospice of the Golden Isles.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, and request those wishing may make contributions to the Hospice of the Golden Isles or the Arthritis Foundation, Georgia Chapter, 550 Pharro Rd, Suite 550, Atlanta, Ga., 30305.
