

Judith Hall Manzer, 73, of Saint Simons Island, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, died January, 29 2014 at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a courageous fight with renal cell carcinoma.
Born July 30, 1940, in Cape Giraudeau, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Frances Hall. Preceded in death by her brother Jon Hall and treasured sister Carole Herron, survivors include her loving husband Les Manzer; devoted children, Barbara (Ben) Farrell of Springfield, MO; David Manzer of Gainesville, GA; Mike (Debbie) Manzer of Canton, GA, beloved grandchildren Connor, Lesley, and Blake Manzer. She will also be sadly missed by all of her cherished nephews and nieces and also her special friends. The family would like to honor Dr. Salim Osta and his wonderful staff for the years of their excellent care and support.
Her childhood spent in New Orleans and Atlanta, Ms. Manzer graduated from Decatur High School and attended Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, pursuing her degree with a major in psychology and a minor in art at the University of Tennessee. Electing to follow a career in the field of art, she moved to Saint Simons Island in 1970, owning the prestigious Hall Galleries that represented 50 national artists for 12 years. In 1982 an international art agency contacted her, wanting to represent her artwork. She spent the following two decades working with five agencies to represent her etchings throughout the United States and Europe. Upon her husband’s retirement, they enjoyed years of travel throughout China, Europe, and the United States.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A reception will immediately follow the service. Her burial was held at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on February 3rd.
